I just finished working with a coach for the past three months. It was truly life changing for me.
One of the biggest surprises was how important it was to be guided to see both kinds of my blind spots.
Now we usually think of a blind spot as those self-sabotaging behaviors or the underlying patterns we’ve been operating on and were not aware of. We just can’t see it … even if lots of other people can!
But we’re also blind to the subtle shifts and new patterns we’re developing and tend to gloss right over them. I do this with my own clients, but was, well … blind, to needing it for myself.
I can’t tell you how many times my coach would stop me in the middle of a thought and say, “Wait! Do you realize what you just said?”
“Ummm, not really,” I’d reply.
“This is HUGE!” she’d say flinging her arms out wide to make her point. Then proceed to help me connect the dots from my old patterns to these new ones. Baby Steps are so vital to celebrate as I talked about here.
The point for today’s article is how blind we are to our utter magnificence. We take so much for granted. And yes, we need to on one level or we’d be completely overwhelmed with what it takes to do anything.
Right now, I invite you to stop long enough to appreciate this fact…
Life IS Woo Woo… And You are a Magician Co-Creating with the Divine to Make it all Happen
When I hear or read someone apologizing for being “too woo woo” I cringe. It’s not that I haven’t wondered how much of this energy stuff I can talk about with my readers. I have. And I used to think, I don’t want to be too far out there or people will think I’m weird. Thankfully I’m finally over that.
So, I’ll come clean right up front.
I am weird.
And so are you!
Each and every action we make is incredibly complex. And we take it all for granted.
Here’s one tiny on-going example:
I look out my office door to a small inner courtyard with a garden of green ferns and pink hibiscus flowers in bloom. It surely seems like that vision is in front of me, outside the door.
But no, that’s not true, is it?
Where do we actually see something?
Check out this short video to help you visualize the process… let yourself stop a minute to watch this. Really take in how incredible all of this is.
Without going into great detail, light waves (energy) enter the cornea, and then the lens, at the front of your eye and hit the retina at the back of your eyeball. Millions of photoreceptor cells in the retina – remember rods and cones? – transform the light waves into electrical signals. These signals travel from the retina to your brain through your optic nerve.
Your brain then interprets the signals to form images that are upside-down and reversed. Finally, the brain switches them around and you “see” what seems to be in front of you. Yet you’re seeing it in your brain.
What about those green ferns out my door? Turns out the color green is only in my mind’s eye. The fern is reflecting green back to me and absorbing all the other colors of the spectrum.
How amazing is this???!!!
What about hearing?
Another quick video to bring this to life.
We are translators of vibrating energy into form
And it happens at split nano-seconds 24/7, day after day, year after year.
Yet most of us don’t give it a nano-second of thought.
We take it all for granted. For truly how could we possibly function if we had to be aware of the trillions of things going on in our body all at the same time … let alone the rest of nature?
But my point is… we are total woo woo creatures and isn’t that fricking amazing?
Life Is a Woo Woo Magical Miracle
Deepok Chopra reminds us we are bodies in process. The body you have now is not the same one you had a year ago. Your stomach recycles every 5 days! You have a new skeleton every 3 months! And still… you reinvent it in just the same way, with the same patterns and the same problems.
There is nothing solid about you. Everything in the universe is energy vibrating at different frequencies, translated and interpreted into physical form.
We know deep in our bones the frequency of love or compassion is not the same as anger or resentment. We know intellectually that sound and light and heat waves are transformed into what we hear and see and feel.
So why is this topic of energy often spoken of with disdain, made fun of as woo woo or apologized for?
Because the more each of us begin to wake up to how we can use our energy consciously, the more our world begins to change.
And that can be scary.
For it ultimately means we stand in our own power and are responsible for our own life.
Are you ready for that?
Many of you are quite familiar with this awareness of energy and are healers or spiritual entrepreneurs. It’s one thing to say the words and help others heal though, and another thing to see how these energies operate inside of you personally.
For others, these are still new ideas and you want to know more.
No matter where you stand, I believe our focus on the male-female energies will bring you into deeper alignment with all the parts of yourself.
I’ve been offering my 4-month Make Peace With Power ~ Leadership Playground and that’s great if you’re ready to dive deep. Click on the link to find out more about it.
And I’m also working on some other ways to make these ideas come alive in more bite-sized pieces. So stay tuned for that.
Over these next few months I’ll be exploring the connections between your masculine-feminine energies, both their light and dark sides, and power.
If you feel this calling to bring your message, your gifts, your vision out to those who are just waiting to hear from you… reconciling these inner conflicts around power and seeing into your blind spots is essential.
