Inner Leadership… What Does That Mean? & what do women need to heal to be the leaders they came here to be?

Inner leadership is you leading yourself first. It’s being responsible for your full-on life, your emotions, thoughts feelings actions. And when you are operating out of your unconscious drives and triggered by past incidents you’re not in the driver’s seat at all.

So much of what I’m aiming to discuss and share and begin a dialogue around is this whole idea of us becoming fully conscious, awake, in the present moment aware of what we’re feeling and thinking.

On Being the Inner Leader of Your Own Life

A long, long time ago the world was not oriented to worship a male god. The female goddess was alive and well, known by many names all over the world – evidenced through stories and song, temples and pottery, archeological sites and images that we can still see to this day.

Many of us, myself included, held onto that idea as a symbol of some more egalitarian, enlightened age. Others dismiss the whole thing as rubbish.

What I learned in the Path of the Mystic Sacred Mystery School and in other readings is that at one point in human history, indeed women were highly revered and held positions of power and authority. But contrary to our rose-colored-glasses view, women were the ones who abused their power over men.

Eventually men became the dominant force. I believe that because this was a reaction against the female, men cut off the female side of themselves.

Whether that’s true or not, we find ourselves many centuries later asking these deep questions about how to get out of the mess we’ve made.

How can we structure our communities and our world to care for all of us?

How do we each come into harmony within our own psyches?

My own full-bodied knowing at this point in my life is our calling to acknowledge that at a soul level we all have male and female energies running our systems.

  • That each of these have essential qualities and characteristics needed for our health and well-being both personally and for all of humanity.
  • And that because of centuries of abuse on both sides, women and men have the challenge and opportunity now to look within to understand that those channels of abuse are happening inside of themselves.

Another thing I learned in Mystery School is that when the split  between men and women happened, it was reflected within our chakra systems individually.

This makes so much sense to me:

Women were cut off from the energies of their lower chakras… their power centers.

And men were cut off from the energies of their upper chakras… their intuitive, feeling centers.

And because of that disconnection, both men and women were cut off from a fully functioning heart center.

This is where we are all being called to return to… our heart knowing connecting with our head knowing.

In the meantime, my call is to women to heal the wounds of our lower three chakras where we were cut off from our true power.

Sure there are many powerful women doing wonderful things in the world. But often they feel driven and pushed to prove they are good enough, smart enough… fill in the blank. That pushing and proving is a reaction to something that happened in their early life.

What if we aren’t reacting to anything?

What if we were fully aware and conscious of the different sacred female and male energies in our body and we honored the dance between them?

What if we begin to distinguish between the defensive or shadow sides of those energies and their sacred counterparts?

What if we weren’t secretly thinking that one of those is better than the other?

What if we recognized that the war we fight in the outer world, whatever “-ism” it happens to be, is in reality a war with our own shadows?

What would that do to your health? Your relationships? Your business?

I will be exploring these questions and more so I hope you’ll join in the conversation. We’ll start with diving into much more about our chakras, especially the effect being cut off from our power centers has had on women.

I’ll leave you with this awareness…

Our upper chakras – the throat, third eye and crown – can only repeat the beliefs and stories we are holding in our lower chakras. If we only do upper chakra work … meditation, crystal healing… this kind of thing, we are not clearing away the blocks in our lower chakras that are affecting everything we do.

Let’s say you were physically or emotionally abused as a child and you believe the world is not a safe place to be. Well the truths you speak from your fifth or throat chakra will all reflect that belief. You’ll talk about how threatening the world is. You’ll be on the alert for danger with your sixth chakra third eye view.

The lower chakras are the foundation for how you see and behave in the world. They build on top of each other. So this lower chakra opening, exploring, discovering is so important for us as women to come into full expansion of who we are.
