When I came across information discussing the male – female energetic principles, I realized that I knew this but had pretty much forgotten it.

I think it helps so much to see who we are as human beings with both of the male – female polarities operating in us. One is not better than the other. We are moving in and out, back and forth between these all the time. In fact, both are essential to us. Nothing exists without them.

It’s unfortunate that our language – at least the English language – confuses this whole issue of the masculine and feminine.

We use the same words for male human beings with masculine qualities… and female human beings with feminine qualities… As we do for the male-female (masculine-feminine) Principles that operate at a universal scale.

And the words we use to describe those two forces can sound negative unless we hold the lens back far enough.

So that’s what I want to explore today.

The principle of male-female energies runs through everything in the Universe

Our female-male physical bodies are a Reflection of those principles. An embodiment of them. a metaphor for them.

Let’s start with our anatomy and see how that works.

The female energy is Receptive, Dark, Hidden, Inward. It Receives the “seed” – the impulse to create. Our womb is the incubator of life. All of life and the universe came out of the darkness.

The male is the Active, Outwardly Directed, Visible (Light), Causative principle. We see this in the male anatomy, with the visible penis outside the body. It’s active “seed” seeks to find a receptive female host.

This is a metaphor for every action we take.

Any kind of change or growth occurs with both the inward incubation of an idea… and the outward thrust to bring it out in the world. In writing this article, I spent time in the idea stage, the feminine part of my mind and then I’m deciding what to actually write and typing it on my computer, the male action aspect.

Due to such distortion of both these principles over the last few centuries, we’ve come to associate this active masculine principle with aggression in its negative aspect.

This is part of the great healing that we’re all being called to undertake. To see aggression in its natural state.

Without aggression … that active, driving force … a flower could not bloom. A woman could not give birth to her child. Change could not take place on any level, internally or out in the world.

Anger can cut through our passive acceptance of some situation, clear the air, and get us moving again.

So many people in the more spiritual arena have this mistaken idea that anger or aggression is “bad” or “negative.” They never allow themselves to have that emotion. But it’s only when this is bottled up and repressed that it blasts forth in violence. Men are socialized not to feel, to always be in control. Repressing the feelings is where anger and aggression get dangerous. This can show up in violence towards others… or, turned inward, it’s called depression, which women tend to suffer more than men.

What are some other qualities of these two guiding principles of the universe?

We know that there’s nothing solid in the universe. We are made up of waves of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Male energy corresponds to positive energy (not in terms of good or bad, but its positive or negative charge). It is the Father principle. Female energy corresponds to the negative polarity or the Mother aspect.

“All things that are manifest are created by male and female energies and all these energies are united in form through the process of marriage, or union.

All things in the universe are either positively or negatively charged. That is, they are influenced more by either the positive or negative energy, or they are either male or female. This includes everything from a sub-atomic particle to an atom, a human being, a planet, or a galaxy. Everything it either male or female. There is nothing that is 100% neutral except for the energy of Purpose.” **

That said, within each form there is an interplay of both male and female energies as well. These are always seeking stability, or neutrality. “In other words, they seek to return to the energy of Purpose.”

“To create balance, we must understand the purpose of the two energies. The male, or the positive energy, is radiant, action, or sending energy. The female, or negative (as in electricity) is magnetic, attractive, and receiving.”

The two energies that sustain the Universe are radiance and magnetism, corresponding to the male and female.

The male energy’s radiation, light and heat from the Sun and stars give and sustain life in all its forms. Of equal importance is the female magnetism that creates those forms in the first place and holds all of creation together. It’s truly a sacred dance between both.

Because the radiant male energy is visible and tangible we’ve often given more importance to it than the female magnetic energy. It just makes sense that’s what we’ve done. We’re reacting and interacting with what we sense.

The feminine energy is the mystery. We see its effects but don’t see it while its operating.

What does this have to do with you being the leader of your life and in your business?

When I researched this topic of the male-female energies, it just gave me such a renewed appreciation for how beautiful we are. How awesome we are. How each of these different and yet complementary energies join together to create our lives.

Both are essential.

One is not better than the other. And… to say that the female energy is passive does not mean that women are passive. We have to see these as energetic qualities that we carry within us and not attach that meaning to us as a human being.

It’s only when we act out of our negated or shadow sides of these energies that trouble starts brewing. We’re out of synch, out of balance. And while most of the focus in this overall topic that we might read about or watch a video is around relationships between human beings as men and as women… my point is we need to start inside first.

Your relationships with your sons, father, husband, boss, wife, mother, daughters, etc is a reflection of how you are relating to these male-female energies running through your own body.

Heal that rift and the outer relationships will shift as well. Heal that rift and watch your appreciation for everyone expand with compassion and more trust.
