Hello, I’m Linda Kaun.
I guide women creative entrepreneurs – artists, coaches, healers, spiritual messengers and visionaries – to release old patterns of self-sabotage so they can claim their power to be the leaders they came here to be … through my Linda Kaun ~ Inner Leadership Coaching and Facilitating programs.
First, let me share with you what I discovered about the Sacred Masculine and how it connects to your leadership.

To give you a little background…
I’ve been actively and/or emotionally involved with the women’s movement since 1973. That’s 45 years.
I was a part of that second wave of feminism that brought about many changes to society. My main focus was with women’s art, culture and spirituality. Our women’s ritual circle in Los Angeles is still going after 33 years and I join whenever I’m in town.
So, you might imagine my shock recently during a personal energy medicine session.
It was very clear that the male and female sides of my body and psyche were not in synch at all!
They were at war with each other. And I didn’t even know it.
What I learned in that energy session was my highly developed feminine intuition was overshadowed by these controlling, defensive male qualities I was not admitting to.
Yes, I know we all have male and female energy operating in us. But I thought the male side was just taking care of itself. I really didn’t think about it.
I had consciously courted all things female and pushed away these male parts.
For me, and I suspect many of you, the out-of-balance, aggressive, competitive male values and attitudes seem to be the problem with what needs to change in the world. So I did my best to focus on my female intuitive, nurturing, creative sides, as well as my strength as a woman.
I didn’t see any connection between feeling overwhelmed … scattered … pushing myself to work harder … second guessing my actions … or the parts of me who love to stay in hiding … and this neglected masculine side of myself.
Can you relate to any of this?
During my energy session, I heard,

Why am I so passionate about this work?
Work that I truly feel is my sacred mission to bring to the world.
And why am I the one to bring it out?
What I understand now is that we literally become the thing we fear most. It’s not always so easy to detect that’s what’s going on at the time however.
I went to sleep many nights growing up hearing my parents fighting, arguing and bickering about not having enough money. This theme of lack, scarcity and not-enough seeped into my little girl self. For most of my life, I had no idea that I’d unconsciously translated that message into believing that I was simply not enough.
And there was nothing I could do to change that.
I decided early on to be “the good girl” to make up for that feeling of lack. I truly believed that if I could just be a little bit “gooder,” I could get my parents to stop fighting.
When I heard myself tell my personal coach, “I was trying so hard to make peace between them. It was my mission for a long time,” chills zipped up my spine.
I’ve been working on bringing two sides together to make peace my whole life.
I also had this irrational fear running in me that if I had power, I would abuse it.
In my late twenties, a psychic reader told me that, yes, indeed, in a particular past life in Atlantis, I was a man with tremendous power over many, many people and I abused it thoroughly. Other readings over the years said the same thing.
Gulp! What the hell did that mean? I didn’t really know. I was too scared to find out.
I became a self-taught artist and traveled all over the world, showing my work, teaching, writing, lecturing. It was wonderful. At the same time, I can look back and see I was playing small. Just getting by.
I made these amazing textile batik paintings. But I didn’t own my creativity, my gifts. I downplayed all that inherent, raw, creative energy that did flow through me. That would have been owning my power. And that was still too scary.
I also equated power with money so I didn’t allow myself to have much of that either. Undercharging for my work, not really putting myself out there to build my art career… all took a toll on me.
I lived with this constant state of disappointment in myself, knowing I had so much more potential than I allowed to come out of me.
Now here’s what I mean about becoming the thing we fear.
By not being responsible for my own life, in the end I did abuse my power every time someone bailed me out of some financial jam I was in. This happened over and over. To my shame and embarrassment.
Thinking I could “give up power” so I wouldn’t hurt anyone, backfired. On me and all the people I felt I disappointed along the way.
It wasn’t until I began a deep dive adventure into myself that I could separate my old story of me from who I really am. And of course that’s an ongoing journey.
When I discovered the disconnection between the male and female sides of me I spoke of earlier, I see how I unconsciously judged my male side as “negative” and my female side as “positive.” And that created an internal battle I didn’t even know I was waging.
I now believe that our next level of growth as women leaders is to make peace with power. This goes beyond turning into Wonder Woman and includes making peace with the masculine and feminine energies inside us.
Your fears are a smoke and mirror show of your own making.
It doesn’t help to say that though.
You have to walk through them and see for yourself.
The story you are holding onto is a fiction of the most imaginative kind.
It’s gotten you through so many amazing experiences in your life.

This sounds more like therapy than coaching, am I right?
While I do have a master’s degree in social work, I am not a therapist. My experience as an ARTbundance™ coach and facilitator helps you connect with deep parts of yourself, in a safe, non-judgmental way. Your own soul knows what is best for you. I’m there to be the guide by your side.
We’re not going to cover leadership tactics or strategies, correct?
That’s right. This is all about your inner game, which will lead you to making the most powerful strategies for your business. When your inner game is off, it doesn’t matter which strategy you choose. You will not see maximum results.
I feel very clear and powerful as a woman leader now. Why would I need to do this work?
I spent 45 years aligned with my feminine self, supporting women’s causes, making women’s art… and still I discovered an unconscious gap within me that was working against all that.

How much time will I have to put in each month?
You’ll have a one-hour call once a week on Zoom. In addition, you’ll complete 3 art projects over the 4 months on your own time. Depending on you, we can use your integration days to work on your art piece during our weekly call together. This can also be very powerful.
The real value in those projects is the actual doing of them. It’s not about making “beautiful art”. It’s using your hands to create that takes you out of your thinking mind. This brings new insights in a way that’s so surprising if you’re not used to it. Remember, these can be very simple – or more complex. That part is up to you.
There are also short weekly writing exercises to help you process your session experience.

A final note…
Over a 30-year period, I was a self-taught, award-winning, international batik textile artist, a lecturer, writer and workshop leader. Prior to that I worked in residential settings, with emotionally challenged children and, after I had my Master of Social Work degree, with drug addicts.
